Purdue University is a land-grant university with an enrollment of about 40,000 students on its main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. Scion was engaged by the University to develop a long-term housing strategy for its nearly 11,000-bed inventory as well as a planned 400-bed honors college. The resulting Campus Housing Program Plan recommended options for the disposition and re-development of the University’s current housing facilities, as well as the development of new facilities to address the current and anticipated demand for on-campus housing.
Additionally, Scion developed projections which detailed the expected financial performance of the recommended Housing plan. Several operational models and implementation strategies were included in Scion’s report; many of which Purdue has adopted. This includes a Scion recommended P3 housing project that the University is currently implementing.
