The University of Lethbridge, established in 1967, is nestled in the southern Alberta coulees and overlooks the Oldman River. It enrolls approximately 8,400 students and offers 150 undergraduate and 60 graduate programs in six faculties and schools.
The Scion group was engaged by the University to perform a market and demand analysis for a potential on-campus student residence. In preparing this analysis, Scion assessed students’ interests and preferences. This included administering an online student survey, conducting student focus group sessions and intercept interviews, interviewing University stakeholders; conducting a peer institutions review, and examining the off-campus rental housing market.
Scion’s final report included an analysis of the University’s key competition and the features of their housing programs. In addition, the report gave important recommendations about student demand for housing on campus for different cohorts of students and the type of housing suggested for each cohort.
