Scion was engaged by Corvias to complete a Student Housing Market and Demand Analysis for the contemplated development of new student housing located on campus at North Carolina Central University (“NCCU” or “University”) in Durham, North Carolina. Scion’s report included observations and recommendations regarding the potential for new student housing at NCCU.
In order to learn more about NCCU to perform the study, Scion used a variety of investigative and information gathering tools. Specifically, the Scion team toured the residential facilities; reviewed enrollment data; conducted student focus groups; interviewed University stakeholders; examined the off-campus rental housing market; and reviewed student housing options at the institutions with which NCCU competes for student enrollment.
Scion recommended to new beds on campus to the NCCU housing system and identified options targeted to improve the facilities and student satisfaction and to align with University priorities.
